Vice President - Retail Property Development

- RPD Strategy & Execution – In collaboration with Group stakeholders, develop and execute a forward-looking retail real estate strategy aligned with Group priorities, optimizing brand positioning, market expansion and financial returns, whilst remaining competitive in the market.
- Portfolio Optimization & Negotiation – Leverage the Group’s portfolio strength to unlock new opportunities, enhance negotiation power, improve commercial terms, and drive strategic decision-making on brand and location investments.
- Property Development Lifecycle & Governance – Oversee the end-to-end retail property development lifecycle for the Group, ensuring alignment and effective coordination across stakeholders, streamlining processes and tools, and strengthening governance and ways of working.
- Retail Real Estate Committee – Chair the Group’s Retail Real Estate Committee (RREC), to identify and prioritize retail real estate investment opportunities with executive leadership. Refine governance, decision-making and communication processes to ensure effective outcomes for the Group.
- Commercial Oversight & Performance Management – Govern all retail real estate commercials including robust financial performance analysis to drive investment decisions, cost saving measures and revenue enhancing strategies, contingency planning, brand Wishlist management, business and RPD KPI alignment.
- Strategic Business Partnership – Lead the RPD function to ensure strategic and proactive business partnering with internal brand and business counterparts, as well as external stakeholders e.g. investors, developers, landlords, contractors, local authorities and community groups.
- Proactive Performance Insights – Oversee real-time site performance reporting and insights, actionable recommendations and business prompting mechanisms to ensure data-driven and accelerated decision making on site matters e.g. high/underperforming sites, contract expirations
- Market Intelligence & Risk Management – Coordinate Group stakeholders including Country Management and Intelligence to build a data-driven retail real estate market intelligence network to inform decision-making, track industry trends, and assess regulatory and economic risks across strategic markets.
- Best Practice & Advisory – Serve as the Group’s primary advisor on all retail real estate matters both internally – for executive leadership – and externally, leveraging market trends, regulatory changes and economic conditions to guide investment decisions and suggest emerging opportunities and risks in the real estate sector.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in real estate development, property management, portfolio optimization or a related field, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role overseeing retail real estate.
- Experience in the Middle East region is required.
- Strong commercial, financial, investment analysis and risk management skills.
- Proven experience in executive-level stakeholder influence, governance and strategic negotiations.
- Proven track record of having a strong data-driven mindset to navigate complex negotiations and inform critical commercial decisions.
